Laura Phelps-Naqvi

Leadership Consultant

I am a Principal Leadership Consultant at NSCG, specialising in the assessment and development of aspiring through to executive leaders. I have led on some of our largest leadership development programmes and have extensive experience in the design and delivery of senior assessment processes across such sectors as professional services, financial services, education, FMCG, utilities, legal, public and not-for-profit. I work in partnership with my clients to understand their business challenges and help them to solve complex problems.

What experience and expertise do you bring to your role?

I have over 10 years talent consulting experience. I have worked nationally and internationally with a broad range of clients, from small boutique organisations to global, listed businesses. I have a Joint Honours degree in Psychology and Management, and a Masters (with Distinction) in Occupational Psychology. I am Chartered Occupational Psychologist (BPS and HCPC registered) and hold Level A and B certificates in psychometric testing.

How are you helping people to achieve their full potential?

I am passionate about supporting organisations and individuals achieve their full potential. I really enjoy helping people, whether that be to progress within their careers or support them to solve complex business challenges. My focus is on building trusted relationships with my clients. I bring creativity to my work and my clients tell me that they appreciate my ability to innovate, tailor solutions to their needs, be totally reliable and focused on quality. I have worked with my clients for a long time and they often refer me to their contacts; something that I feel great pride about.

How do you prefer to start your day?

With two young children, my day normally starts with rushing around and making sure everyone is fed, ready and out on time! Secretly I wouldn’t have it any other way, but occasionally a moment to drink a warm coffee and mooch about would be fun.

What was your first job?

I paid to complete my masters by working almost full time for a building society. In a strange twist of fate, around the same time as I moved into consultancy, the building society was acquired by another bank and became a client!
