For website use, candidate registration, assessment activities, assessment on behalf of a client, marketing, client services and supplier management, New Street Consulting Group Limited is the data controller.

In some cases the client may be the data controller and NSCG will act as a processor. Where this applies, we will inform you and share the relevant client privacy information.

Data we may collect includes:

Executive/Psychometric Assessments and Coaching

  • Professional profile information, such as education and employment history.
  • Psychometric questionnaire responses and resulting scores or profiles.
  • Demographic details, such as age, gender and ethnic origin, where appropriate and in accordance with local laws. These details may be collated and anonymised.
  • Performance related data, such as assessment ratings, benchmarking data, and other assessment results.

Clients

  • Professional contact details

  • Contact details for individuals representing supplier organisations

How we collect your data

How we use your personal data

Website visitors

We use data to:

Executive Search/Interim candidates and job applicants

We use candidate data to:

  • Assess suitability for roles and assignments

If placed on assignment, we keep necessary records for six years after your assignment ends to meet statutory obligations.

Executive/Psychometric Assessments and Coaching

We use assessment data to:

  • To administer assessments and interpret results for recruitment, selection, development or calibration purposes agreed with our client.
  • To report your results to you and to the client, and to discuss outcomes as part of selection or development processes.
  • To support internal quality assurance, validation and norm development. We may anonymise your data and add it to a central analytics database so that we can explore leadership and role-related patterns, provide norms to support evaluation and validation, assist with calibration, gain insight into HR trends, and provide client analysis from aggregated data.

We will not use your identifiable assessment data for direct marketing.

Clients

We use client data to:

  • Deliver recruitment and consultancy services
  • Manage communications, meetings and engagements
  • Maintain records for service delivery and legal compliance

Suppliers

We use supplier data to:

  • Manage service delivery
  • Process payments
  • Fulfil contractual and legal obligations

Marketing

Where you have opted in, we may send:

Lawful bases for processing

  • Consent – for marketing and, where required, for sharing candidate information with clients and processing certain categories of data. For administering psychometric assessments, for processing special category data where collected, and for adding your anonymised results to our central analytics database. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting gdpr@nscg.com, although this may affect our ability to complete the assessment.
  • Legitimate interests – operating our business, improving services, recruiting candidates, and managing client and supplier relationships. Providing assessment and consultancy services to our clients, ensuring service quality, improving our tools and processes, and maintaining appropriate records. Our interests are balanced against your rights and expectations as a candidate, and we minimise the use of identifiable data where possible.
  • Contract – delivering services to clients, candidates, assessments and suppliers.
  • Legal obligations – complying with tax, employment and regulatory requirements.

Special category and criminal convictions data

We only process this data where:

  • You have provided explicit consent, or
  • It is permitted by law under the Data Protection Act 2018.

Where possible, it is anonymised. Where practicable, such information is collated and anonymised for reporting purposes. We do not include special category data in client reports unless it is relevant, proportionate and permitted by law, or you have expressly consented.

Automated decision making and profiling

Psychometric assessments involve profiling to generate insights about your workplace preferences, behavioural styles or cognitive abilities. We do not make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on you solely by automated means. A qualified assessor or the client’s decision maker will review assessment outputs. If you have concerns, you can request human review or express your point of view at gdpr@nscg.com.

Who we share your information with

We may share personal data with:

  • Executive Search/Interim Clients, but only with candidate consent
  • Executive/Psychometric Assessment Clients, we share assessment outputs with the client that commissioned the assessment, typically your prospective or current employer.
  • Assessment publishers and platforms. We use reputable psychometric test providers and secure digital platforms to deliver assessments and scoring.
  • Service providers such as IT hosting, email distribution, security, analytics and customer/operational support.
  • Regulators or authorities where legally required.

All third parties must comply with strict confidentiality and data protection obligations.

International transfers

Your personal data may be transferred outside the UK or EEA.

When it is, we implement appropriate safeguards, including:

  • UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA)
  • EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs)
  • Adequacy decisions where applicable

Data retention

Unless otherwise stated:

  • Executive/Psychometric candidates: Up to three years, anonymised for an additional two years, unless you request deletion earlier
  • Placed Executive Search/Interim candidates: Six years after the assignment ends
  • Other candidates: Kept for two years
  • Clients: Six years from the end of services
  • Suppliers: Six years for statutory and tax purposes
  • Employees: Six years after employment ends
  • Website data: Retained only as long as necessary for operational purposes

Security

We use technical and organisational measures to protect your data from:

  • Unauthorised access
  • Accidental loss
  • Misuse or damage

Third‑party providers used by NSCG must meet strict data protection requirements.

Your rights

You have the right to:

A person directly employed by NSCG. (Candidates placed with clients are not employees of NSCG.)
