About the Role
We are seeking an experienced transformation consultant with extensive experience in Grounds and Maintenance. This 12-18 month assignment will lead a critical transformation programme for a Housing Association in the North West. With a team of over 100 operatives, this role is pivotal in shaping the future of the Grounds and Maintenance function.
You’ll be responsible for embedding operational excellence, streamlining processes, and delivering a people-focused transformation. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who knows what good looks like and can deliver at pace.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the operational transformation of the Grounds and Maintenance service, ensuring efficiency, effectiveness, and alignment with organisational goals.
Address HR and cultural challenges within the team, fostering a high-performance, values-led environment.
Review and optimise operational processes, including rota management, depot operations, fleet and equipment usage, and training delivery.
Ensure robust Health & Safety practices are embedded across all service areas.
Deliver measurable improvements in service delivery, team engagement, and customer satisfaction.
Act as a trusted advisor to the Executive Director, providing insight, challenge, and leadership.
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience at Head of Service, Associate Director, or Director level in Grounds Maintenance, or a similar operational field.
A track record of delivering operational transformation and cultural change in large, complex teams (ideally 80+ Operatives).
Strong understanding of Health & Safety, fleet and depot management, and front line service delivery.
Experience in coaching and developing senior managers.
Ability to quickly assess operational maturity and implement practical, scalable solutions.
Comfortable working in regulated environments and navigating HR challenges.
A self-starter who can hit the ground running and deliver results with minimal oversight.
