interim Reward and Benefits Consultant

Title: Reward & Benefits Consultant

Term: 9-month fixed-term contract.

Purpose:

Our large housing association client in the southeast of England, is looking to engage a rewards specialist, following a significant structural change in the organisation. Some housing or broader Third Sector experience is deemed necessary for the role

Deliverables:

  • Conduct a comprehensive review of existing employee benefits and terms and conditions and produce a benchmarked report with recommendations for Executive Board
  • Design and lead a colleague consultation, summarising findings for Executive Board
  • Recommend a competitive reward strategy aligned with the Corporate Plan and People Strategy.
  • Lead procurement of new benefits and closure of ceasing benefits contracts.
  • Implement uniform T&Cs across the group
  • Design a reward and benefits evaluation framework for annual review of impact and ROI.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Comprehensive internal analysis and colleague feedback consolidated with external benchmarking.
  • Board-ready report with recommendations for consultation.
  • Well-prepared and accessible colleague consultation in late Spring/Summer 2026.
  • A reward and benefits suite that supports being an employer of choice and meeting charitable objectives.

Person Specification Essential Criteria:

  • Proven experience as a Reward & Benefits Consultant with a strong track record in reviewing and benchmarking reward packages and T&Cs
  • Track record in housing or Third Sector Organisations with more than 500 employees
  • Demonstrable experience in leading successful colleague consultations resulting in uniform T&Cs.
  • Ability to present complex analysis and recommendations confidently at Executive and Board level.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with ability to manage queries and challenges effectively.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Strong project management skills with ability to deliver to tight deadlines.

The client is ideally looking to appoint on a 9 months fixed term contract
